This course provides the participants with a primary understanding of the general principles and concepts of safety in aviation to help them develop a ‘safety conscience’ approach. The SMS fundamental knowledge will develop an individual and make him more confident about discussing the role of safety in aviation, and also ensure that they are ready to take first steps in a safety career. The course covers key safety topics with practical examples, also, it helps demonstrate how safety relates to roles within the aviation industry. It will help one to develop safety leadership capability and capacity, and also enable one to engage and contribute towards a positive safety culture in aviation industry.

  • To LEARN the history, definitions, and regulatory requirement of Safety.
  • To BUILD a Safety Management Manual and System for aviation organizations.
  • To DEVELOP skills to use in everyday safety processes for aviation organizations.

  • Describe the importance and regulation of safety in the aviation industry
  • State the basic principles of aviation safety including: its definition, why you would use a Safety Management System (SMS), the requirements and components
  • Explain safety policy and objectives including management commitment, responsibility, and safety accountabilities

  • Describe safety working procedures and practices implemented in the aviation
  • Describe how individual responsibility contributes to a safety conscience and conscious workplace
